Biographical Sketch:
Martin Wagner, DVM, Dipl. ECVPH graduated from the Vetmeduni Vienna in 1991 and was appointed Professor for Molecular Food Microbiology in 2008. Dr. Wagner currently manages the Institute for Milk Hygiene, Milk Technology and Food Science that is mainly devoted to research on microbial safety of food chains. Currently the institute runs 5 work groups on foodborne pathogen ecology, epidemiology, post genetics, detection technology and global food safety employing more than 40 Post docs, Ph.d. students, doctoral students and undergraduates. Dr. Wagner coordinates the EU funded FP 7 project PROMISE, the Christian-Doppler Laboratory for Molecularbiological Food Analytics and the COMET-K project Preventive Veterinary Medicine. He intensively collaborates with the national food industry.
