The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) is a public- private partnership established to help the food industry, especially small and medium sized human food and animal food companies, comply with the preventive controls regulations required by the Food Safety Modernization Act. The Alliance consists of key industry, academia and government stakeholders who are developing a standardized curriculum on preventive controls for hazards related to FDA-regulated foods for human and animal consumption. The FSPCA will provide a training course for industry and a train-the-trainer course for FSPCA lead instructors. The Alliance will also provide outreach to the industry, develop a hazards and preventive controls knowledge database, coordinate a technical assistance network, help communicate technical elements of preventive controls regulations, and provide a useful link between the food industry and the FDA regarding guidance for food hazard analysis and preventive controls.  This IAFP session will provide an update on the FSPCA activities and inform participants how to take advantage of preventive controls resources. A Q&A session is included.
