to publisher on August 1, 2015.
5. Status of Subcommittee working on the 1982 CDC Diseases Transmitted by Foods (Judy
and Ewen). Many parts still missing.
6. Revision of “Procedures to Investigate Arthropod-borne and Rodent-borne Illness”
manual: Board: Staff will provide an electronic version of the Procedures to Investigate
Arthropod- borne and Rodent-borne Illness manual. Additional discussion needs to take
place before making an electronic version of the HACCP manual as that book is not
approved for revision currently. Note: from Springer: Lifetimes sales: 3,814 print, 9
electronic 2014 sales: 1,505 print, 3 electronic 2015 sales through May: 102 print, 2
electronic. Lifetime downloads from our e-package: 681.
7. Marketing of the procedures manuals: Board: The current price structure for the
“Procedures to Investigate Foodborne Illness” is economical for a book of this
importance. IAFP will encourage the same, economical prices structure for the
“Procedures to Investigate Waterborne Illness” when it becomes available.
8. Task force with input from the Board and the Food Safety Education PDG for
developing a training program based on the procedures manuals. (Possible collaboration
with groups, e.g., International Food Protection Training Institute, NEHA. (mailing lists,
Springer sales, webinars).
9. Translation of the 6th edition of the foodborne illness procedures manual (Ewen and
Judy). Chinese (Xianqin Yang) Other languages?
10. Committee history - 100 years in 2014. History being edited for Food Protection Trends.
(Ewen).
11. CCFI Google groups (Kruti Ravaliya)
12. Interactive ebooks: we should consider interactive ebooks/iBook format for some of the
projects. (Pat Curtis) Because of great expertise in IAFP in this area, we can add
multimedia components to some of our manuals. Board: PDGs are encouraged to work
in this arena.
