Biographical Sketch:
Trained as a biomedical scientist at Leiden University, Ingeborg Boxman, PhD, worked on cell-cell interaction, human papilloma viruses and skin irritancy at the University Medical Centers of Leiden and Amsterdam. In 2003, she started as a senior scientist and project leader on foodborne viruses at the Dutch Food and Consumer Safety Authority. She is currently working on in-house validation of methods for detection of norovirus or hepatitis A virus RNA in food to be applied in Dutch monitoring programs and foodborne viral outbreaks. She participated in the development of the ISO/TS 15216 reference method for the detection of viral RNA in food and the Codex for viruses (CAC/GL 79-2012).
