Biographical Sketch:
Maria Baka was born in Athens, Greece. In 2003, she started her studies in the school of Food Science and Technology of the Agricultural University of Athens, Greece (2003-2009, M.Sc. degree). During her studies, she obtained an Erasmus grant for conducting her Master thesis in the Laboratory of Microbiology at Ghent University in Belgium. In 2010, she started a PhD in the Chemical and Biochemical Process Technology and Control section of the Chemical Engineering Department of KU Leuven, Belgium. Currently, she is a post-doctoral Researcher in the (Bio)Chemical Systems Technology, Reactor Engineering and Safety Section of KU Leuven Campus Gent.
