Biographical Sketch:
Vasilis Valdramidis is a senior lecturer at the Department of Food Studies and Environmental Health (Faculty of Health Sciences). He holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium and a primary degree in Agriculture (Food Science and Technology) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). His scientific outputs include more than 70 articles in research journals of high impact factor, conference papers, conference abstracts and book chapters. He also has edited 3 books in the areas of food control, safety, technology, preservation and processing. He was chairman of the 7th International Conference on Predictive Modelling of Food Quality and Safety (Dublin, 12-15th September 2011) and member of the scientific and organisation committee of 3 International Conferences in the field of Food Science and Technology. He is currently editor in 3 Journals, i.e., Journal of Applied Microbiology, Letters in Applied Microbiology and Current Opinion in Food Science and member of the International Committee of Predictive Modelling in Foods while he served as a Publication Committee member at the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) Europe.
