Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Sara Bover-Cid, head of the Food Safety Programme at the Institute for Food Research and Technology (IRTA) in Monells (Spain). Her research activities deals with microbiological risk assessment and modelling the effect of food preservation technologies (e.g. high pressure processing, biopreservation, hurdle technology) on the behaviour of food borne microorganisms of technological interests, spoilage and pathogenic bacteria (Listeria monocytogenes in particular). She belongs to the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Food Microbiology and the Executive Board of the International Committee on Food Microbiology and Hygiene, as Secretary. She has participated in numerous national and EU funded research projects. She has published over 67 papers in international SCI journals and several book chapters.
