Anne Brisabois (Anses affiliation) and I (Texas Tech University) will share this session. Please find attached both biographies and pictures. Dr. Anne Brisabois, senior microbiologist and research Director, is currently the deputy head of the Laboratory for Food Safety dedicated to the surveillance and characterization of foodborne pathogens and manages the fishery and aquaculture department at the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (ANSES). This department is dedicated to the microbial and chemical contaminants of the fishery and aquaculture products, it conducts research studies these topics, especially on Listeria, Vibrio, parasites (Anisakidae), histamine, markers of spoilage, freshness and more recently on emergence of antimicrobial resistance and micro-plastic issues. The department is national reference laboratory for Vibrio and histamine in fishery products. Dr. Marie Bugarel obtained her PhD in 2012 while working on a contribution to the molecular risk assessment of Salmonella and pathogenic Escherichia coli associated with severe diseases in humans at Anses, in Paris. After her PhD, she moved to the United States for a post-doctoral position at Texas Tech University. Since 2013, she is a research assistant professor part of ICFIE research group at Texas Tech University. Dr. Bugarel is part of a collaborative effort dedicated to the better understanding of the invasion and survival characteristics of Salmonella in bovine lymph nodes. Her research also focuses on the development of molecular assay to characterize foodborne pathogens.
