Biographical Sketch:
Luigi Iannetti is graduated in Veterinary medicine at the University of Naples, Italy (1999), where he also got a PhD in Clinical and Pharmaco-Toxicological Veterinary Sciences (2005) and a postgraduate in Inspection of Food of Animal Origin (2006). He has worked at IZSAM, Teramo, as Veterinarian since 2007. His work is mostly related to the activities of the Food Hygiene Unit and the Italian NRL for Listeria monocytogenes. This includes scientific and technical support to the Competent Authorities, designing of monitoring plans, delivering of training courses at national and international levels, managing of research projects. He participates as technical expert for the Italian Ministry of Health (MoH) to the DG-SANTE Working Group on Microbiological Criteria and he was also part of the Listeria Expert Study Group (ELITE) of ECDC. He develops and implements predictive models of pathogens growth in foodstuffs. He is currently principal investigator in the project GR-2011- 02349917 funded by MoH about implications between animal welfare and food safety. He is author of 26 peer-reviewed scientific publications and 21abstracts in proceedings of scientific conferences.
