Biographical Sketch:
Dr Tim Gibson has been involved in volatile organic compound detection systems since 1988 and was instrumental in spinning out a company from the University of Leeds in 1995. The development of the Bloodhound electronic nose system followed and over several years the technology was refined to enable direct detection of bacteria using their unique volatile chemical emissions. RoboScientific Ltd is the current company, offering a unique VOC analysis system that has been trialled in the field with a number of commercial partners. Dr Gibson is the chief scientist of RoboScientific and is particularly involved with sensor design and manufacture for the new system.
