Biographical Sketch: I was born in 1987 in Sarajevo, Bosnia. In 1993, I move to Croatia where I would stay until moving to Belgium in 2013. I obtained my Masters degree at the Faculty of food technology and biotechnology in Zagreb, and won several excellence scholarships including the Stipend of the city of Zagreb for gifted students, Basileus scholarship as well as the Scholarship of the Biotechnology foundation. I was an active member of the International Association of Students in Agriculture where I founded the International Soft Skills training committee. Upon graduation I was employed as a laboratory manager in a fish canning company. In 2013 I got employed by Gent University as a teaching assistant with the possibility of obtaining a PhD degree. I have just had my mandate prolonged for the third time. I work as a freelance label validation expert for Intertek and am the General Secretary of Global Harmonization Initiative, a worldwide NGO tackling issues of harmonization of food safety laws).
