Old Business:

  1. Read statement from IAFP re acceptable activities in committees (Judy)
  2. Request any changes to agenda? (Ewen)
  3. Results of symposia planning from last year: Review symposia/roundtable for this  annual meeting (Ewen, Judy, Jack):

a)        S57: "2017 Foodborne Outbreak Updates" Wednesday, July 12, 8:30 to 12:00, Ballroom D.

b)      S62: “Water for food processing falls in the crack between RTCR (Revised Total Coliform Rule) and FSMA, Wednesday, July 12, 8:30-10:00 AM room 20-21.

c)        S74: “Root Cause Analysis”, Wednesday, July 12, 1:30-3:30, room 22-23.

  1. Our submissions for two IAFP awards for two CCFI members were successful: Marilyn Lee: Honorary Lifetime Member, Judy Greig: Fellow.
  2. Ewen created the Ewen C D Todd Control of Foodborne Illness Award and was successful in having a former chair, Frank L Bryan as its first recipient.
  3. Discussion of progress on the vector-borne manual (rodent-borne and arthropod-borne).  Judy lead; other members to identify if experts or know of others to help. (Judy)
  4. Status of the 100 Year History of the Committee, F.L. Bryan senior author (Ewen).
  5. Viral and parasitic portions of Diseases Transmitted by Foods Manual (3rd edition) completed but need to be added to the table. Individuals need to be identified to contribute to biotoxin, plant toxicant, and chemical sections. (Ewen and Judy.)

 

New Business (proposed symposia titles): The deadline for IAFP 2018 symposia, roundtable and workshop proposals is October 3, 2017.
